Half you Canadians would have boycotted the US if you lost, the other half would be slitting your wrists.

Now keep the drunks off the zamboni

congrats

Not that I'm bitter, but you guys essentially beat the Minnesota Gophers team from 2007.

Whatta great friggin game!!! Both teams looked like hornets flying around a couple pop cans. AAAaaawsome!!!

Fighting slows the game down. Getting chippy is OK but waiting for game-play to resume sucks. Get rid of the goons in the NHL and skate. Get rid of the power play icing exception. They f-up and get tagged with a foul then they can just slap the heck out of the puck out of their ice and crowd around their net. If the offended team had the right to refuse the penalty they would be better off sometimes, instead of wasting our viewing time.

It's a shame that most US born NHL players put their careers ahead of national pride.
I hope those guys that opted out feel worse than the team does. At least the team did their best.

Just get out your guns and shoot me now .... all the mens hockey sucked big time .... for the most part .... for a team, slovkia was probably the best in the whole shootin match ( it wasn't riddled with as many professionals as all the others were).

Now if you wanted to watch real hockey, you should have been watchin' womens hockey ..... despite the fact that most teams were real rookies and will improve with time. Yes, some teams were way overmatched, but they all played hockey the way it was meant to be played.

To me, it doesn't matter which country won .... no country played ... a group of people got together to make a team, and teams played. You can take the politics out of the friggin game .... just name them team 1, team 2, etc. and drop the stupid national pride of putting a countries name on a team.

The "Olympics" is nothing more than a bad political joke. These are the worlds finest athletes .... really what the hell does it matter what country they are from or that they won by 1/100 of a second.

If you noticed anything during the games, it was that the participants (for the most part), were friendly and congratulated their fellow competitors, win or lose. That is what the games are all about, period .... end of rant: roflmfao.

The speed of the game was great. You have to admit that. It was like a figure 8 race track. Non-stop flurry. Much better than the NHL.

Are the Olympics supposed to be the best a country can send or the best a sponsor can send? Either way somebody is footing the bill so the athlete can train. Slovakia is no different, those guys play hockey for a living.

I do think the big ticket pro athletes should pay their own way.

I was able to watch it in Francois and HD from the network feed on my Ku band 1M FTA dish
pretty cool

Sorry I'm not an amateur sports event purist. I liked the game.

Take World Cup Soccer for example. The US fields what is essentially an amateur team against a world of professionals. It's nice to see them do well but we don't take it too serious.

Lindsey Vonn is from the same town as I am. She would have cleaned house if the hill was solid ice. I still don't like her.

I don't think pro's should be playing in the Olympics.
I like it like it was years ago, amateurs only.
I once went the the fights, and a hockey game broke out!!

The thing I enjoyed about it was that it was like an all-star game except they played like it mattered. The US Canada games were some of the best hockey I've ever watched. Four of the San Jose Sharks were playing for Canada and it's the only time I've rooted against them. I enjoyed it a lot but I'm glad the NHL season is back in swing.

if a guy plays a sport and somehow he and his family are housed, fed and get their schooling paid for, they are professionals. Amateurs are weekend hacks that need to work during the week to pay for their sports hobby.

Who do you want to see competing?
